I have known Marcia for 7 years. We met at a  Play group for preschool age children that she hosted in her home. We became fast friends and have been friends since. At the time our children were 3 and 5. 

It was obvious to me the first time we met that Marcia has a special connection with children and how they learn. Her home was a living testament to it. Each room had special play areas with lots of hands on things for kids to do. Children’s art (and her own) dressed the walls of her home and her love of nature was apparent as well. Atop a dresser were bird’s nests, sticks, rocks, branches and shells.

As we parents chatted ,the children played, made new friends and were usually covered in glitter, paint, slime or play dough by the time we left! There is nothing as joyful as happy children and they most certainly were after spending time at Marcia’s house. No one EVER wants to leave Marcia’s house…including the parents. I think I finally know why after all these years... The spirit of “play” rules!

  Harmony Woods Farm is a wondrous place where my children experienced the joy of nature and expressed their individual creativity with fun art and craft classes.   All are treated equally and with respect, no matter their age.   There's no shortage of things to experience.  It is a great place to just "be".  I feel it is as refreshing as a vacation each time I visit .

All four of my children have enjoyed the many activities offered at Harmony Woods Farm - tromping through the woods looking for nature items to complete a project, learning about horses, playing with the animals, and working on interesting art projects.

Marcia is an excellent 'teacher'- letting kids explore their interests while providing a helping hand when needed but never interfering with the creative process. My kids love her!

My girls have taken many of Marcia's classes from quilting to art, nature journaling and horse lovers. These classes  were unique in that they were offered in a warm and inviting environment, in a small group setting. The kids were all able to uniquely express themselves through their artwork, passions and opinions. Marcia has the ability to make each child feel secure and confident and feel as if they have a lot to share with the world.

My family’s first homeschooling experience was at one of Marcia’s clubs…Lego Club. And I knew right away that Marcia has a certain quality—an instinctual ability to provide enough direction to be helpful but not too much to be unproductive. If I had young ones, Marcia would be one of the only people I would want to leave them with.
